Groundwork North East is committed to quality across all areas of our work. As an organisation brought together in July 2009, we have made significant progress in our quality agenda. We are proud to hold ‘Investors in People’ and ‘Positive about Disability’ standard, as part of our commitment towards equal opportunities and diversity. Operationally we hold a number of quality standards specific to our programmes, this includes the ‘Contractors Health and Safety’ (CHAS) scheme and Martix accredited for the employment programme.
We are currently working towards an Integrated Management System (IMS) which will combine ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001, the international standards respectively for environment, quality and health and safety. We aim to have achieved this by September 2011.
We’re working hard to look at our processes and ways of working to reduce our carbon impact further. In particular, we are aiming to develop ways of better measuring and reducing the carbon impact of our buildings and projects.
