A graduate working for Groundwork North East as part of the Knowledge Exchange Internship from Teesside University
It’s a common problem facing graduates, wanting to find something they enjoy but not knowing where to start or what is available to them. Groundwork has noticed this and developed a volunteer graduate scheme which helps support graduates to gain real work experience to further their career options.
Groundwork North East is working in partnership with Teesside University to offer support to graduates as part of a Knowledge Exchange Internship. Sophie McIntosh, Groundwork North East's new Relationship Marketing Officer has joined Groundwork to transfer the knowledge she has gained through her studies at Teesside University to help Groundwork North East develop it's business relationships.
Groundwork North East prides itself on their schemes aiming to support graduates wanting to work in the voluntary sector. There are a number of graduate opportunities to get involved with throughout the whole organisation. We give you the chance to gain experience in a number of areas including hands on work with community engagement, green infrastructure or project development to more behind the scenes work in a marketing or fundraising placement.
Sophie McIntosh, Groundwork North East's Relationship Marketing Officer said "Groundwork North East has provided me with the opportunity to work on a one year work placement after graduating from an MSc in Marketing Management. This experience has allowed me to further develop my knowledge and practice in the work place. It has also enabled me to utilise the knowledge and experience gained from my academic studies into Relationship Marketing; by delivering a project based on improving the relationship management strategies of the organisation. This experience has been significant in building my understanding of marketing environments within different organisations and how drastically important it is for an organisation to understand and value it's customer relationship marketing developments"
